Now appearing on Google Street View: Fear Salesman
Who'd have ever thunk that the place to promote your band is Google Street View – the new service from the web uber behemoth that shows photographs of street scenes.
Fear Salesman did exactly that when the leader of the self described 'indie-rock/semi-electronic music" act went out to be photographed by the Google crew. Heagy works as a software developer to pay the rent and told the CBC 'When Google announced that Street View was coming to Saskatoon, a light bulb went on. I just thought Street View would allow anyone on any corner to be seen by any number of people anywhere.'
So a plan was hatched. Heagy asked freinds to keep an eye out for the Google car and by chance, actually saw it himself. jumping in his own wheels, he followed the G-men to figure out the pattern of where they would be going next. After awhile he had it aced, drove ahead and set up with his guitar and sign advertising the band.
If you go to the »» Fear Salesman site you can download a free mp3 of their first single Runaway.
